Around 150 people from all across the Synod met for the first Synod Gathering.

Queuing  In good British tradition, on arrival we joined a queue to discover who we were, what we were doing, and where we were doing it...
... and then settled down for a cuppa, while the workshop and theme leaders found their rooms and set them up.  Morning Coffee
Moderotor Terry gets our attention  When all was ready, Terry Oakley, our moderator, invited us to drink up and move into the theatre...
.... where met met together for a brief act of worship ...  the people
 children's art and spirituality

... and a presentation about spirituality based on Children's art.

This was actually very interesting.
The art work was the short-listed entries in a regional competition in which children expressed their understanding of Spirituality.

Some of their comments were presented alongside their artwork, and we were humbled by their profound thinking and ability to express their faith.

There were several workshops available  in the next few hours.I was involved in leading two of them and sodid not manage to take any photographs. (If you have one or two I could use, then please contact me here)

This photo is of the Barefoot Bible study Session, in which we were introduced to a novel way of engaging with the Bible.

Other workshops included: Circus Skills, Prayer, Card Making, Drumming, Films and Faith, Singing, Spirituality, Indian Dance . . . .
